Deuteronomy 6:4-9

I stick like glue to what God says to do.

God wants his words to click and stick in our heart.  He shows parents and grandparents how to make this happen.  He tells them to talk about his words at all kinds of fun times—at home, on a trip, while getting ready to lie down and sleep, and again while getting up.  Did you ever tie a string around your finger so you wouldn’t forget something important?  Well, God told his people long ago to tie his commands to their hands, to wear them on their forehead and to write them on their doors and gates!  As you look at the Click-ers you’re reading about on this website, you too will see reminders of God’s Word everywhere you go.  And you’ll stick like glue to what God says to do.

Make it Stick

I stick like glue to what God says to doGather some of the Click-ers that are helping you remember God’s Word.  Choose one of the smaller ones, such as a cereal flake, and dab the back of it with an open glue stick.  Then glue the item to a piece of paper so it won’t let go.  That’s a picture of how God’s Word is meant to stick in your heart.

: Glue Stick
Whenever you see, use, or think about glue or a glue stick, let this lesson cling to your mind as it clicks and sticks:  I stick like glue to what God says to do—Deuteronomy chapter 6.
